Host a Drive

Hosting a drive is a powerful way to rally your friends, family, coworkers, or congregation to meet real and urgent needs for children in foster care. Whether you focus on one type of item or gather a mix of essentials, your group effort provides dignity and comfort for kids and caregivers in our community.

We make it easy for you to get started—with ideas, resources, and our current needs list. All you need is a group and a heart to help!

Types of Drives

General Needs Drive

Collect new or gently used clothing, shoes, or everyday goods that we can distribute directly to families visiting our Resource Center. You can also include household items and other essentials from our Amazon Current Needs List.

This option is perfect if you want to say yes to everything!

Fostering Joy Drive

This is where generosity gets creative—and joyful! With Fostering Joy, your group can sponsor a set number of children (as a company, church, club, or family) and commit to providing gifts or special items for them.

You can choose to:

  • Host a Toy Drive – gather fun, age-appropriate items that spark happiness.

  • Sponsor Children Together – adopt a goal like “Let’s sponsor 20 kids this season!” and work as a team to gather everything they need.

These drives go beyond essentials—they remind children that they’re celebrated, valued, and not forgotten. Sponsorships are especially meaningful for groups who want to see their impact multiplied!

Focused Drives

Pick one type of item and make it your theme! For example:

  • Hygiene Kits – shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, deodorant

  • Diaper & Wipes Drive – always one of our biggest needs

  • Seasonal Essentials – coats in the winter, school supplies in the summer

These drives are simple, fun, and make an immediate impact.

How to Get Started

  1. Pick your drive type (focused, general, or Fostering Joy).

  2. Check our Current Needs List or Wishlist for most-requested items.

  3. Fill out the Host a Drive form (linked below) so we can provide you with materials and coordinate drop-off.

  4. Spread the word and collect items! We’ll help with flyers, logos, and ideas to make your drive a success.
